Baron Von Terror presents: The Blob (1988)

Beware of The Blob; it creeps and leaps and glides and slides across the floor, right through the door, and all around the wall. A splotch, a blotch; be careful of The Blob.

  • Kevin Dillon, Shawnee Smith, Donovan Leitch, Jeffrey DeMunn, Candy Clark, Joe Seneca, Del Close, Bill Mosely, Erika Eleniak, Jack Nance
  • Chuck Russell, Frank Darabont

  • 120 minutes
  • R. Like it's pretty dang greusome. Don't bring the kids unless your kid is a bratty 12 year old who needs to learn.
  • If it had a mind, you could reason with it.
If it had a body, you could shoot it.
If it had a heart, you could kill it.

A meteor lands in the woods of a small town, bringing a shapeless organism with it. This organism seems to have only one purpose: consume living flesh in order to grow as big as possible. And honestly, it does a pretty good job.

This remake is fun, with moments of real tension and big set pieces woven together by director Chuck Russell (Nightmare On Elm St. 3). The script delivers terror without holding the audience's hand. Thankfully, Baron Von Terror will be there to help you watch your step and survive The Blob.
