As a director, Jordan Peele has always delivered tension, dark humor, and a lovely balance between patient story-telling and thrilling moments. For Nope, he brings this to a suspenseful big budget sci-fi flick that aims to entertain from start to finish. Just outside Hollywood, a horse trainer and his sister notice a strange object flying through the night sky. Convinced it may be something out of this world, they set themselves up be the first to capture proof of its existence. But their pursuit proves more dangerous than they could have known, as whatever is out there is far from safe and predictable. Perhaps the most fun of his three features, Nope makes the most of a big screen experience with plenty of popcorn moments built into the acclaimed script. Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya both shine as siblings who couldn't be more different but still share a mutual bond and chemistry.
