Lisa, a struggling single mother, takes a job as a nanny to Justine, an 8-year-old girl with spina bifida. Justine’s strict parents have decided to home-school Justine and keep her isolated due to her condition, permitting occasional visits to the local park as her only connection to the outside world. Determined to help Justine make friends her own age and live a normal life, Lisa introduces Justine to her young son and daughter. However as time goes on, it becomes clear that Justine’s parents and Lisa have conflicting views on much more than parenting.
