The Terroirist

The Terroirist follows legendary winemaker, writer, and lifelong troublemaker Randall Grahm on his most personal pursuit yet: growing the first truly American grape. After introducing generations of Americans to new wines through his label, Bonny Doon, becoming one of the most celebrated winemakers in the world, and then walking away from the company that made him famous, Randall has risked nearly everything to pursue his singular dream of creating a wine that could exist nowhere else. A wine that truly expresses the land from which it grows. In addition, vines that can thrive in our everchanging climate conditions. The Terroirist is about more than wine. It is a story about obsession, connection to the land, ambition, aging, life's regrets, and the complicated cost of refusing to let go of an idea.

About Fairhope Film Festival

The Fairhope Film Festival is a film lover’s film festival held each year on the second weekend in November, offering participants the opportunity to see world-class award winning films in a unique, picturesque location over a four-day period. The focus is on national and international film festival competition finalists of the past year: the “best of the best” in cinema arts. Notable foreign and feature films, documentaries and shorts—many that never made it to the big box theaters or were only there briefly–will be selected for appreciative audiences. Although the festival will pull out all the stops, Southern-style, to host opening and closing events and parties, the emphasis will be on the art of filmmaking and the experience of seeing exceptional films. Directors, actors and screenwriters will participate in the screenings both in person and via live electronic transmission.
