SPECIAL GUEST: Elliott Hasler, Indie Filmmaker, Director of Vindication Swim

Elliott Hasler is an award-winning English film director and screenwriter. Hasler will be screening his film Vindication Swim at IU Cinema on Monday, November 9. The biopic follows the story of Mercedes Gleitze and her attempt to become the first British woman to swim the English Channel. Hasler is currently in production on his next feature film, A Hidden War.

He will give a presentation exploring his method for discovering overlooked historical stories, researching them, and ultimately bringing them to the screen. The presentation will draw on archival newsreels, photographs, and newspaper articles, along with Elliott’s own behind-the-scenes footage and film clips.

The presentation will last around 45 minutes. Followed by Q&A, networking, catching a film after if you'd like. Get drinks from the bar & meet fellow film lovers.

Reserve a ticket for a chance to win a free popcorn/drink just for showing up!
