The actual logline for the movie: “High School Honor Student by Day. Hollywood Hooker by Night.” Donna Wilkes plays the lead in this 80’s exploitation gonzo and she has a blast doing it. Walked out on by her deadbeat mom, Angel makes a living walking the sleazy Hollywood streets by night, all while maintaining an A+ average in high school. Her makeshift family is her artist landlord (The American Treasure that is Susan Tyrell), her fellow sex worker and cross-dressing neighbor (The American Treasure that is Dick Shawn), and the old cowboy who was once a western star (The American Treasure that is Rory Clahoun). They all come to her aid as she avoids the cops and chases a serial killer who is targeting sex workers, all while getting her homework done. Bonkers, over the top, and filled with every offensive 80’s action trope you can think of.
