About Stroke: Time is Brain --

Stroke: Time is Brain takes you on a journey through the history of stroke treatment. As recently as the 1990s, most doctors and researchers thought there might never be effective treatments for stroke. For centuries before that, victims of stroke were thought to have been "struck down" as if by lightning, by mysterious or evil forces. Now, due to the heroic efforts of scientists, researchers and doctors around the globe, stroke can be treated — but only if patients receive treatment quickly enough — hence the oft repeated phrase, "Time is brain."

Stroke: Time is Brain was produced in partnership with WFYI by Emmy-award winning Executive Producer Steve Krahnke, Director Glenn Gephard, Editor Susanne Schwibs and Lead Science Advisor Dr. Judd Jensen. Funding is provided by Genentech, Penumbra, Swedish/HCA, and Neurologica.
