Hugh Gallagher's 'Gore Trilogy' presented by Dead Formats VHS Con

After publishing his infamous sexy horror fanzine DRACULINA for five years, editor Hugh Gallagher stepped behind the camera to direct a trilogy of utterly shocking shot-on-video films–chock-full of bizarre humor, nudity, and lots and lots of blood!

    One night only!

Director Hugh Gallagher and star Dingo Jones in attendance.

    GORGASM (1990) ~ 6:00 p.m.

“Writer/director Hugh Gallagher is someone to carefully watch over the next few years. His low-budget effort here is quite remarkable.” - Tom Brown, The B’s Nest

    GOROTICA (1993) ~ 7:35 p.m.

“Destined to become the American Nekromantik.” - Fred Olen Ray

“Six dead bodies. Seventeen breasts. Rat-in-the-face. Close up piercing (yeoww!). Whips. Chains. Stomach carving… Joe Bob says check it out.” - Joe Bob Briggs

    GORE WHORE (1994) ~ 8:55 p.m.

“Gore Whore brings a splashy grand finale to the ‘gore trilogy’. Combining brisk action, deviant sexual behavior, cool special effects and juicy splatter, director Hugh Gallagher surpasses the lunacy of Frankenhooker and delivers a better movie on less money than it takes to buy a good used car!” - Alternative Cinema

Presented by Dead Formats VHS Convention, an Indianapolis-based promotion celebrating underground shot-on-video film and the enthusiastic collecting community surrounding it.

Hugh Gallagher is the 2025 Guest of Honor at Dead Formats 6, happening Saturday August 30th at Holy Ground Productions.
