EAST OF WALL

After her husband’s death, fiercely independent horse trainer Tabatha struggles to keep her South Dakota ranch afloat while facing unresolved grief and financial uncertainty. Surrounded by her children and the wayward teens she’s taken in, Tabatha forges an unconventional family on society’s margins. Filmmaker Kate Beecroft blends real-life footage, TikTok videos, and dramatized scenes with both non-actors and professionals to craft a strikingly original portrait of resilience and chosen family in the modern American West. Winner: NEXT Audience Award, 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

About Nantucket Film Festival

The Nantucket Film Festival was founded in 1996 by siblings Jill and Jonathan Burkhart. The Burkharts lived on the island year-round, and knew it was the perfect place to begin a festival that combined with their love of film and community. In 1997, Mystelle Brabbée joined the team and today serves as the Executive Director. NFF continues to thrive each year by always remaining true to its mission, to promote the cultural awareness and appreciation of the art of screenwriting and storytelling.
