MR. NOBODY AGAINST PUTIN

Pasha, a nonconformist teacher, is tasked with filming his provincial Russian school’s various activities, uniquely positioning him to unobtrusively document the chilling militarization of education following Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. As patriotic performances and battlefield training replace traditional learning and propaganda is used to turn students into ideological recruits, his candid footage sheds light on the impossible ethical dilemmas faced by ordinary citizens under authoritarian rule. Winner: World Cinema Documentary Competition Special Jury Award, 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

About Nantucket Film Festival

The Nantucket Film Festival was founded in 1996 by siblings Jill and Jonathan Burkhart. The Burkharts lived on the island year-round, and knew it was the perfect place to begin a festival that combined with their love of film and community. In 1997, Mystelle Brabbée joined the team and today serves as the Executive Director. NFF continues to thrive each year by always remaining true to its mission, to promote the cultural awareness and appreciation of the art of screenwriting and storytelling.
