THE LIBRARIANS

Rows of quiet bookshelves become battlegrounds in this urgent, eye-opening documentary, as librarians in Texas, Florida, and beyond emerge as unlikely defenders of democracy. Director Kim A. Snyder follows these courageous stewards of knowledge as they risk careers and safety to resist sweeping book bans targeting marginalized communities. Exposing the coordinate campaigns behind censorship and the personal toll on those who stand against it, The Librarians serves as both a chronicle of our present culture wars and a rousing call to fierce action to protect our freedoms.

About Nantucket Film Festival

The Nantucket Film Festival was founded in 1996 by siblings Jill and Jonathan Burkhart. The Burkharts lived on the island year-round, and knew it was the perfect place to begin a festival that combined with their love of film and community. In 1997, Mystelle Brabbée joined the team and today serves as the Executive Director. NFF continues to thrive each year by always remaining true to its mission, to promote the cultural awareness and appreciation of the art of screenwriting and storytelling.
