Join us for a community-centered workshop that honors the resilience of New Orleans through art and reflection. Holly Wherry, LPC-S, ATR-BC, the founder of Whole Village Art Therapy, will highlight artworks made by children participating in group art therapy sessions when schools reopened in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The children’s artworks remain powerful testaments to healing, survival, and hope. Following the showcase, the Whole Village Art Therapy team will guide participants through an interactive art-making activity designed as a reflective closure practice. Together, we’ll create space for memory, connection, and collective care.
The Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans is a touchstone for Contemporary Art in New Orleans and the Gulf South, enhancing connections between artists and communities and providing a forum for ideas and the exploration of a just society through artistic creation, public engagement, and institutional practice.
