Independent filmmaker Sandrel "Sanicole" Young, originally from the Southside of Chicago, has written and directed film projects that have been televised nationally and screened at several prominent film festivals. The focal point of Sanicole's work is promoting the African-American experience in relationships, families, and community in an uniquely endearing way while highlighting love within circumstances of hardship and struggle. She is inspired by and chooses to explore real life circumstances, internal conflict and matters of the heart. She continues to use storytelling as a tool to encourage. acknowledge, and promote love, progression and healing.
