Uniting Our Community Through Film

Your donation provides support for our annual Festival and year-round community screenings – including the many we offer for free!

For 23 years, RiverRun has used the medium of film to foster a deeper understanding of the many people, cultures and perspectives of our community – and world. When our Festival was forced to cancel, we immediately asked “how can we maintain our connection to you?” – our audience. Our answer was to shift our programming online and offer a series of drive-in screenings. Since April 2020, we've presented 98 films; 52 for free. We programmed these films to raise spirits and bring our commuity together. Your donation will help us continue to fulfill our vision of “uniting our community through film”. Thank you for supporting our work!

About RiverRun International Film Festival

Founded in 1998, is an arts organization dedicated to showcasing films from independent, international and student filmmakers. The 21st RiverRun International Film Festival was held April 4-14, 2019 in 5 venues throughout Winston-Salem and 1 in Greensboro. RiverRun screened 175 films from 47 countries with 18,354 attendees from across NC, the U.S., and internationally. Due to our excellence in programming, we are recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures & Sciences as an Academy Award qualifying festival in 2 categories – animated shorts and documentary shorts. In addition to our annual Festival, we have several highly regarded year-round screening programs which include the free Indie Lens Pop-Up Series in partnership with PBS North Carolina and the State Library of North Carolina; RiverRun Retro; RiverRun Arts; and our education intiative, Films With Class.
