Join us for an evening with Faroese knitwear designer and wool advocate, Sissal Kristiansen! The founder of Shisa Brand and producer of The Wool Islands invites you to experience the textures, behavior, and history of wool and knitting from the Faroe Islands, while showing how heritage stitches and coarse wool became modern, wearable garments of today. Here, participants bring their own yarn and needles to try out Faroese patterns and design. Admission to the Knit workshop will also include a special Shisa Brand pattern. About the Artist: Sissal Kristiansen of Shisa Brand, and producer of ‘The Wool Islands’ Shisa Brand's creations are like wearing a piece of the Faroe Islands itself. Crafted from local wool and lovingly handcrafted on the islands, they pay homage to centuries of knitting tradition while strutting boldly into the contemporary scene.
