Ruben Høgh in Concert

Join us on October 8 for an evening with Danish pianist and former ASF Fellow Ruben Høgh! With a strong focus on sonic experimentation and commitment to artistic innovation, Høgh moves freely between European classical traditions and the raw energy of New York’s Downtown scene. Particularly drawn to the resonating textures and sonic landscapes of post-rock and inspired by composers like Julia Wolfe, John Adams, Steve Reich, Olivier Messiaen and Dmitri Shostakovich, he explores new forms of pianism that both challenge and build on conventions and create immersive concert experiences where the distance between stage and audience dissolves. This includes the use of extended techniques, prepared piano, as well as electronic textures and software.
