Teens Programs: Summer Paper Making

July 13—12:00 pm – 2:30 pm *This workshop is intended for ages 13-18; tickets may be purchased for this workshop exclusively or as a series bundle This teen art workshop offers an exciting introduction to the world of home-made paper - a valuable skill for anyone interested in experimentation, sustainability and material exploration in the arts. Participants will leave with the knowledge to recreate this process wherever their artistic endeavors take them, whether in the studio or at home! As part of our Summer Paper & Printmaking series, this workshop emphasizes experimentation, imagination, and process-based approaches to art-making, allowing participants an opportunity to explore new possibilities while learning practical skills. This workshop is taught by Daisy Magnusson (she/they). Daisy is an artist, curator, educator and historian and the Coordinator of Arts, Learning, and Language Programs at Scandinavia House. Prior to their postgraduate studies at Royal College of Art, London, Daisy taught across K–12 settings, including serving as the history teacher at the Maya Angelou Academy (YSC) in Washington, DC. At the core of Daisy’s practice is the belief in the possibility of other worlds, in new ways of relating to one another, and in radical exploration and experimentation. All materials, postage, and addresses are provided. No prior experience is required.
